Filing Fees
Immigration Court filings generally have no fee. Attorney filing fees may apply for some petitions.
Self-Help Resources
Unlike other courts, there is no right to appointed counsel in immigration court. Free/low-cost representation available through: Immigrant Defenders Law Center, RAICES San Diego, San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program, and USD School of Law Immigration Clinic.
Tip: Arrive 30 minutes early for any court appearance. Bring two copies of all documents — one for filing and one for your records. Dress professionally and turn off your cell phone before entering the courtroom.
